Mrs. Esther Elizabeth "Libby" Clark Blackmon, age 66,  of Hartford passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2016 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb with Rev. Johnny Strickland officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. 

Mrs. Blackmon was born September 25, 1949 in Nuernberg, Germany to the late Willis Talmadge Clark and Gerta Elizabeth Feitenhansl Skinner. She retired from Sony after 30 years of service,  loved cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Libby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be truly missed.  She is now free and in the presence of her Lord. 

Survivors include her husband, Michael Joe Blackmon, Hartford; mother, Gerta Elizabeth Skinner; Slidell, LA; daughter, Cynthia Baxley (Kevin), London, KY; son, Gary Lee Cobb, Hartford; step daughters: Crystal Blackmon, Slocomb and Amanda Martin (Ryan), Panama City, FL; three grandchildren: Storm Baxley, Slocomb, Joshua Cobb, Hartford and Haley Martin, Panama City, FL; sisters: Carol Labiche, Hartford, Linda Zapf (John), Donalsonville, GA and Yolanda Clulee (Kris), Slidell, LA; brother, Harry Clark (Donna), Lakeland, FL; sister-in-law, Faye Watson, Dothan; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.  

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. McAllister and Dr. Cox and their entire staffs for the loving care so freely given to Libby; as well as Alacare Hospice for their love, patience and guidance.
