Mrs. Foye “Monette” Etheridge of Esto, Florida went home to be with her Lord Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Extendicare Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was 76. 

 

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Kenneth J. Santora and Rev. Brian Klobe officiating.  Burial will follow in the New Hinson Baptist Church cemetery. 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. 

 

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to New Hinson Baptist Church Child Development Fund, 1143 Co. Rd. 48, Slocomb, AL 36375.

 

Mrs. Monette was born on April 17, 1938 in Geneva County to the late Simon and Bessie Pippin Wright.  As a dedicated Christian, Mrs. Monette faithfully served the Lord and delighted in the church nursery ministry and was a member of New Hinson Baptist Church.  

 

In addition to her parents, her husband, Jimmy C. Etheridge and a sister, Lois Haddan preceded her in death. 

 

Survivors include her children: Cindy McGowan (Cliff), Esto, FL and Carl Etheridge (Terri), Columbus, GA; two grandsons: Tre McGowan (Amanda), Lynn Haven, FL and Justin McGowan, Esto, FL; a great grandson, Brady Mitchell; siblings: Vencie Wright, Ocala, FL, Buck Wright (Eva), Fox, OK, Janice Register, Fadette, Edward Wright, Cowarts, Elaine Kelly, Fadette, Martha Boyett, Malvern and Solomon Wright (Betty), Cowarts; brother-in-law, Billy Haddan, Calloway, FL; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
