Mrs. Nelma “Nell” Grace Roberts of Wicksburg passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Flowers Hospital. She was 85.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, in Pilgrim Home Baptist Church with Rev. Teddy Ward and Rev. Buddy Hood officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrim Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Nell was born on January 13, 1929 in Houston County to the late Aubie R and Candace Turner Thomley. She was a member of Pilgrim Home Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Cloye C Roberts; three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sister, Jeanette Davis, Wicksburg; nieces: Beverly Reynolds (Phil), Enterprise and Kim Voss (Rick), Hartford; nephew, Pete Jackson, Enterprise; four great nieces: Jessica Harper (Jeremy), Taylor, Audrey Reynolds, Enterprise, Lexie Reynolds, Enterprise and Raina Voss, Hartford; one great-great niece; two great-great nephews; and many friends.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staffs of Hartford Health Care, Alacare Hospice and the nurses at Flowers Hospital (ICU & the 6th floor) for the care and love that was so freely given to Mrs. Roberts during her illness.
