Mr. Steven L. Fowler of Dothan passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at SAMC. He was 58.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Glover officiating. Burial will follow in the Jellico Community Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

 

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Jellico Community Cemetery, c/o Billy Kibler, 174 Judge Logue Rd., Newton, AL 36352, American Cancer Society, 2346 W. Main St. Suite 3, Dothan, AL 36301 or your favorite charity.

 

Mr. Fowler was born April 2, 1955 in Houston County to Betty Fowler and the late JT Fowler. He was a 1973 graduate of Wicksburg High School. Steven loved animals and participated in the Livestock Program at the National Peanut Festival. He also served as the FFA President for the State of Alabama. Steven was a loving father, grandfather, son brother and friend who will be forever missed. 

 

Survivors include his mother, Betty Fowler, Jellico Community; fiancée, Cathy DeLong, Dothan; son, Michael Fowler (Heather), Taylor; three grandchildren: Samantha Fowler, Aayden Fowler and Michaela Jones; one sister, Beth Jenkins (Mike), Rehobeth and one brother, Gary Fowler (Paulette), Fitzgerald, GA; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
