Mr. Amzie “Edwin” Watford of Slocomb passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 at Wiregrass Hospital.  He was 85. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Hosea Parker officiating.  Interment will follow in the Purvis Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. 

Mr. Watford was born August 12, 1933 to the late Amzie and Mary Hall Watford. Edwin loved all things dealing with agriculture, especially planting and working in his tomatoes, he also enjoyed tending his cows, and was engaged in farming his entire life. He will be dearly missed by his family and community. 

In addition to his parents, his wife, Kathryn Watkins Watford; daughter, Mary Kathryn "Kay" Watford; sister, Martha Ott and three brothers-in-law all preceded him in death. 

Survivors include daughters: Teresa Collins (Richard) and Melissa Reeves (Mike); one son, Glenn Watford (Kristie); three granddaughters: Jessica Seay (Colby), Elizabeth Whitaker (Chad) and Carissa Watford; two grandsons: Matthew Collins (Alisha) and Nicholas Watford; one great granddaughter, Peyton Collins; one great grandson, Ian Collins; one sister, Frances Register; a sister-in-law; a sister-in-law and her spouse; two brothers-in-law and their spouses; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
