Friday, February 25, 1938 - Tuesday, February 28, 2017

Mr. John Travis Dunn left his earthly bonds on the morning of Tuesday, February 28, 2017 to spend eternity with his many friends and relatives who have gone on before him and who were anxiously awaiting his arrival. He was 79.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb.  Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Dunn was born February 25, 1938 in Dale County to the late Willie Johnny and Mary Annie Herring Dunn.

In addition to his parents, one son, John Edwin Dunn preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Jean Price Dunn; two sons: Martin Irvin Dunn (Cindy), Rome, GA and Michael Jeremy Maxwell (Reay), Snellville, GA; two sisters: Glenda Thompson (Bobby), Pace, FL and Linda Faye Williams (Steven), Daleville; two brothers: William Talmadge Dunn (Merri Schneider), Eufaula and Thomas Earl Dunn (Cindy), Wewahitchka, FL; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

We are assured in the promise given to us by the Son of God, Jesus, that Travis is with our Father in heaven where all is new and bright. We shall all miss him, but we take comfort in knowing that he feels no pain, sorrow or regret. We delight in knowing his happy face and barreling laugh are echoing in the gilded halls of heaven; and that we will be with him soon forever.
