Mrs. Josie "Jo" Belle Byrd Brown of Dothan passed away peacefully Sunday, August 28, 2016 at SAMC.  She was 90. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Watermark Church with Pastor Todd Thorpe officiating.  Interment will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.   

The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 until service time. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Mrs. Brown's memory with your charitable donation to Watermark Church, 103 Elmer Road, Ashford, AL 36312. 

Mrs. Brown was born June 20, 1926 in Dale County to the late Henry Isom and Emma Lou Lovie Andrews Byrd.  Jo was a devoted woman of faith and a member of Watermark Church.  She retired from Sears with over 30 years of dedicated service. She was fun loving and possessed a great sense of humor.  She loved her children, adored her grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. 

In addition to her parents, her husband, William "Bill" Brown and twelve brothers and sisters preceded her in death.  

Survivors include two daughters: Bootsy Brown Blissett (Jimmy), Eufaula and Phyllis Brown May (Jimmy), Augusta, GA; two sons Billy Brown, Dothan and Chip Brown, Brazoria, TX; ten grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
